Stress

Today's Quote: "Stress is the trash of modern life - we all generate it but if you don't dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life" ~Danzae Pace

Today's Question: How are you taking care of the trash in your life?

A Bit About Me:
I have been working with people who are stressed all my life. When I started my career out as a nurse, my patients, their relatives, the managers, the orderlies, the reception and yes the other nurses were all stressed.
There is an enormous amount of stress out there and I see it worn on the faces of many people. It took my last job for me to be able to say enough was enough.
It doesn't have to be this way...there are so many ways to recognise this stress in yourself and others around you and do something proactively before the stress does pile up and overtake your life. Are you going to let it?
My passion in life is to partner with people in taking a positive approach to their lives before the stress becomes too much and the body suffers from it. Not only will stress affect you but everyone in your life, your family, your colleagues and even the person who serves you your morning coffee!
What if you sailed through your life safe in the knowledge that you had tools to deal with the stress that so many let overtake them?

  1. Stress comes in many forms, from within and from around you. We can control the stress from within with meditation, deep breathing, relaxing and so many other things in particular self-awareness, but it's the stress that is coming from around us which is the hard one to manage. I think the first thing is to be aware of the stress, so that is to recognise the signs. We can only work on things we recognise. We as humans have somehow been taught not to think so much of ourselves and therefore we tend to neglect our emotional sides. Simply put if you are not happy more than likely there is an element of stress. Once identified then corrective action can be taken. The downside to this is the stress can sometimes suck so much energy out of you that you are not feeling the best and don’t know where to start. That is when talking to the right people can help. Having time out for you, massage, reiki, and relaxation, whatever it takes. It’s a reprogramming of the brain. We have the control, but sometimes just loose the remote to switch it over to another channel. External stress is the hard one; this is where you need to be fearless. You may need to pull a person up on their attitude or behaviour and this can be hard, but trust me and I mean this, once you have done that you will feel so empowered! Take back the power by letting them know you will not tolerate and there are ways to do this. If you cannot face the person who is causing the stress in a work situation then there are other avenues. In a personal situation there are groups or professionals to that can help. Your local GP is a great place to start sometimes. But you as the one suffering need to make changes, firstly let it out. Write down how you feel, this is very cathartic. You can be as honest as you feel because no one needs to read it, just you. Once written it can be left behind. Why do I know these things work? Because I suffer from stress from work and family outside of my control over the past 10 plus years and more. I've had to learn how to deal with it or else it would have eaten me up. Good luck everyone...
